FABULOUS FRIVOLITIES – lavender hot chocolate

Nothing warms you up quite like Hot Chocolate on a cold day. This winter, we tried several different Hot Chocolate recipes and came up with one that really hit the mark. This delicious recipe is easy for Mommy & Me to make and enjoy in under 20 minutes. As always, to make life easier for busy Mommies, I’ve included links for all the ingredients to be delivered right to your doorstep!

LAVENDER HOT CHOCOLATE

(serves 2)

2 cups whole milk (we prefer to substitute with coconut milk)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon lavender flowers

80 grams milk chocolate – chopped

1. Heat the milk, vanilla extract & lavender flowers in a saucepan over medium heat until milk begins to simmer. Whisk occasionally.
2. Remove milk from heat and let the lavender steep for 5 minutes.
3. Pour milk through a strainer to remove lavender. Return the hot milk to pan and add chocolate. Stir until incorporated.
4. Serve hot chocolate in 2 mugs and top with marshmallows if desired.

We added homemade marshmallows to our Lavender Hot Chocolate and a dusting of vanilla bean. Perhaps we will share our FANTASTIC marshmallow recipe another day here on the blog 🙂
