FABULOUS FRIVOLITIES – paper poinsettia pompom

Our Paper Poinsettia Pompoms take only minutes to make and assemble, they cost next to nothing, and look very FANCY & FABULOUS! (The technique is exactly the same as our white Flower Cake Topper – see previous post for instructions on those.)

MATERIALS:

Toothpicks

Scissors

Glue Stick

Red Streamer Paper

Hot Glue Gun

STEP 1

Fold over the end of Streamer Paper by 1 inch and flatten. Fold over again and flatten. Continue and repeat this step 20 times. Cut off from the roll.

STEP 2

Trim the sides of your Paper into points like a triangle but leave the bottom attached.

STEP 3

Unfold your Paper carefully and lay flat. Add a dab of Glue to the end of a Toothpick and attach to the bottom edge of Paper. Continue adding dabs of Glue while you roll the bottom edge of the Paper around your Toothpick. Fold your Paper from time to time in the opposite direction to give the Poinsettia more dimension and “fluff”.

STEP 4

Once all the Paper is attached to your Toothpick, let the Poinsettia dry while you make some more flowers. Trim the Toothpick and attach your creation to gifts using a dab of Hot Glue.
